Meet the Founder and Lead Attorney

Tess Heisserer founded The Heisserer Firm because she saw a need for a more client-centered and results-oriented approach to sensitive employment issues serving clients with their needs in mind.

Tess attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. Tess has successfully represented clients in various industries including the construction, architecture and engineering, medical, law enforcement, professional sports, education, and computer science professions to name a few. Tess' background is diverse and she is dedicated to the satisfaction of her clients.

Tess is committed to the safeguarding of employee rights and fighting for those who historically have not had a voice. Tess believes in her work representing clients who have been discriminated against on the basis of their race, gender, religious beliefs, or national origin. Tess further works with employees who have been terminated or otherwise retaliated against for whistleblowing or exercising their First Amendment rights. Tess also takes pride in leveling the playing field during negotiations by representing clients in severance agreements, NDAs, and other contractual disputes.

Tess believes in fairness in the workplace and helping employees achieve it whether that is through challenging pay discrimination, overtime or wage theft, ERISA violations, FMLA violations, or disability discrimination.

Tess is admitted to practice in Tennessee, Illinois and Missouri as well as the Middle District of Tennessee, Eastern District of Tennessee, and Western District of Tennessee.
